Paulig since 1750 by Werner Rechenauer Meisterbetrieb
On Friday, 17th of September 2021 the first flagship store of the carpet manufacturer PAULIG since 1750 opened its doors in Munich, Maxburgstraße 4. For many decades already, the family businesses PAULIG and INNTAL HANDWEBEREI have been all about tradition, love of craftsmanship and, above all, special carpets. From generation to generation, the valuable know-how has been passed on and constantly expanded. With the joint store opening, a new milestone was reached.
The store in the middle of Munich's city center presents itself in an inviting and modern atmosphere. An exclusive selection of hand-woven and hand-knotted carpets is presented on an area of approx. 200m2. A homely atmosphere and appealing decorative elements create a shopping ambience in which the visitor feels as comfortable as in his own home. The sales area is divided into different areas and shows the great variety of carpets, which are perfectly staged by high-quality lighting. In addition to the many new products, the Munich store offers customers, above all, individual advice on site. Here, our focus is on custom-made and unique items from the PAULIG product portfolio, which we tailor precisely to the needs and wishes of our customers. This is the responsibility of master weaver Werner Rechenauer and his wife Katja Rechenauer, who manage the new store in Maxburgstraße 4.
INNTAL HANDWEBEREI
INNTAL HANDWEBEREI was founded in Rosenheim in 1945 by the grandfather of the current owner. Over the years, the business was expanded several times before a store was opened in downtown Munich in 1965. Craftsmanship and tradition are still the focus today and are decisive for the high quality of the carpets. The business is still in family hands and is managed by master weaver Werner Rechenauer in the 3rd generation. Today the company is located in Raubling/Pfraundorf, Germany.
PAULIG SINCE 1750
In 1750, the master clothier Johann Christian Paulig laid the foundation for today's company in Sommerfeld. PAULIG sees itself as a manufactory. From dyeing and blending to spinning the wool, weaving and knotting - a great deal of pure handwork goes into a PAULIG carpet from start to finish. In order to guarantee this important basis throughout, the entire production from the first to the last step is in the hands of PAULIG. The closed value chain provides the security of achieving the best quality at the highest ecological level. From generation to generation, the family has always remained true to the textile business. Today, the company headquarters are located in Schwarzach am Main, Germany and the company is already being run by the 9th generation.
